About the Photography

In my role as your personal storyteller, I aim to capture the beauty, personality, and authenticity of everyone and everything at your wedding or other special event.   I play artist to photograph the beauty of the festivity and act as a photojournalist to capture those once-in-a-lifetime moments.

For family or personal portraiture, I am interested in capturing you both posed and natural.  I believe it is important to develop a relationship with my clients so that their true personalities, and love for one another, shine.

I strongly believe in creating images that go beyond the normal commercial application or lifetime event and rise to the level of fine art.  You do not hire a photographer for his labor, but for his vision.  My extensive experience with travel and landscape photography also add a distinct depth, drama, and character to my images.

Ultimately, I want to make it difficult for you to choose your favorite images to include on your mantle or within your album.

About the Photographer

With more than 20 years of professional photography experience, I began as an event photographer at weddings, corporate events, and other festive affairs.  I eventually became a published travel and landcape photographer, with assignments that have taken me over the globe to more than thirty countries in five continents.  Some of my clients include National Geographic, Discovery Channel, American Red Cross, New York Times, Washington Post, Time Magazine, The Guardian, and Times Mirror.

While raised in New York, I have lived in Atlanta and Hong Kong, but have called the Washington, DC area home since 1996.  When my first child was born in 2009, I replaced my camera bag with a diaper bag.  My photography now remains fairly local between New York and DC, with the occasional assignment elsewhere.
